Hi, I'm Gavin, and I’m the face behind the bakes. I create luxury celebration cakes and cupcakes for customers in Bedfordshire and surrounding areas. I officially launched my business in 2024 after years of baking for family and friends. I’m entirely self-taught—my background is in classical music! I trained as a violinist for many years, but after finishing my studies, shifted careers and became Box Office Manager for an orchestra in London. Baking became my creative outlet, and what started as a hobby soon became a passion.

 

In the early stages of my new venture, I had the amazing opportunity to feature on the award-winning BBC One programme, Make it at Market. Hosted by The Repair Shop's Dom Chinea, the show takes aspiring craftspeople of all disciplines and helps them turn their hobbies into full-time businesses. My episode follows my journey as I build my new business guided by UK world Chocolate Master, Ruth Hinks. You can watch my episode of Make it at Market on BBC iPlayer. Since featuring on the show, I have continued to go from strength to strength growing my customer base and in 2025, I was recognised by Theo Paphitis' Small Business Sunday.
